I have excel and really do not know how to use it. I would like to know if it is possible to do this:
I walk so many steps a day and my stride is 18 inches therefore I know that 3520 steps at 18 inches and then divided by 12 equals 5280 steps which is the equivalent to a mile. I would like to enter everyday in one column the steps I have taken and in the nex column it would automatically enter the milage.

as an example:
14,348 steps divided by 3520 = 4.07 miles
can anyone ellme how to do this?

Thank you

yes. This is the type of thing Excel does very well.
Many different ways..
An easy way
Steps Milles
3520 5280
Enter your steps in column a and
the formula
=+A2*18/12/5280 or =+A2*18/(12*5280) into column B just as you'd explained in your question.

You can copy the formula by right click , copy
move the cursor to the next link. right click and paste.

Hey Lucky. Sorry I don't think I know how to send something from Excel so I'll leave it to someone else who will be able to help.

I can help you with your profile though.

First click on your name
Then click on View luckyladee's Public Profile
Then look for the words View/Edit Complete Profile in the top right corner, and click it.
Then scroll down. Skip the first group of boxes, past the Date of Birth, and you'll see a box with your e-mail address. Change it there.
And that should do it. Does that help there?

Where column A has the number of steps taken per day, Column B Miles walked
So Cell B2 would have the following formula

=(A2*18)/63660

where A2 is the number of steps taken
18 is the number of inches per step
63660 is the number of inches in a mile

That formula can then be dragged down all the B column
