arrgg im so frustrated with microsoft Mad . i get the run around all the dang time. ive got streets & trips 2007 and there are numerus streets that are incomplete (they have been complete sence the 60's) and ive been in constant contact with those bozos to no end now im fed up Mad.(i had to rant someplace) any body know where i can get a good complete maping software from that is complete and very accerate.im thinking of spending the $400. bucks on co pilot and try them as its for trucking and most say its pretty complete. i had streets & trips 2002 wicth by the way is really good but lacks the new streets that have been built. im also going to use ubantu linux instead of micro stuff too. anything but microsoft. so ill need a solution for linux.
has any body had the same problems as me with streets & trips. the gps was working pretty good i must say as it kept up with me driving all overtown only one bug that was when i drove under a bridge it lost signal and took about two blocks before it regained its self. of coarse microstuff always has bugs dont it.
i need a beer Big Grin (thanks for letting me rant) Smile

Have you tried Google Earth? Runs on Linux (confirmed on Xubuntu 7.04), Windows, and Mac OS X.

Most of the streets seem right, but I can't make any guarantees. (Its a free product, so if you don't like it, it only cost you time)

Hope this was helpful!

Google Earth is awesome. For maps, MapQuest is fairly reliable, too (click). Their driving directions, however, are quirky at best and may be wrong.

yahoo maps is good ive been pretty happy with them but mapquest is not worth a darn in my book its led me the wrong way a few times.
it seems that keeping up with the new streets is very hard to do i quess. i play with google earth too its kinda fun to check things out.
im still working on linux stuff im not used to it so much learning to do. Big Grin

Yahoo maps sends me over McKinley Bridge to cross the Mississippi. It's been closed for years. (The holes in the deck were so bad that you could look down and see the river through the holes, some of which a man could fall through.)

Biggest faults are too little forewarnings of exits to take on freeways (likely has caused accidents etc.). Also when entering a mispelled (non0existent) street name, the program goes ahead w/o any warnings and unbelievably route plans to an completely unrelated address in the City. Then at very least, users who have appmts are late having been forced to look elsewhere for directions. Hello M$, anybody home, anybody ever heard of 'no such street name' and/or 'check spelling' prompts?

FYI - McKinley Bridge over the Mississippi is now open. It is almost like a new bridge, bicycle lanes and everything. I can get to downtown St. Louis in about 12 minutes now, and to the Zoo in about 15-20. Life is good.
