farang Enthusiast	Posted I had to reinstall xp and now I have nothing coming from my speakers. I went into device manager and I have a question mark beside pci device and sm bus controllers. It says that I have no drivers installled. I try every cd I have and it says that it cannot find the hardware. What's up with this?

cswchan Gold Enthusiast 2009 Enthusiast of the Year	Posted Hide Post farang.... Does your mother board have built-in sound? If so, try disabling it in your bios during boot up. Most drivers for onboard sound cards are located on your mother board's CDRom. Otherwise, post the sound card manufacturer & we'll try locating one for you. If you're not sure, try using a program like SiSoft's Sandra to query the board.

farang Enthusiast	Posted Hide Post I have just fixed the problem. I had to reinstall xp and one disk was not with the rest.Now all I have to do is find out how to get the ?sum bus controller fixed in my device manager. Tks for the advice.
