Just a word of advice: set a restore point before downloading/installing!!! I ran into freezeups when acessing TweakUI. Had to restore system, could not get to Control Panel to use Add/Remove Programs.

I use TweakUI,Power Toys for Windows, but still find the best Tweaking tool by far is XTECQ.
X-Setup offers several advantages, making it the "ultimate tool for black belt system tuning". It's runs on any Windows version (incl. XP), is clutter-free, easy to use, extensible, powerful, covers any aspect of your computer and has more configuration options than any other tweaker.
Speaking of System Restore; I found a neat little utility that will allow you to create your own, automatic, restore points on a daily basis. I've got mine set to create restore points at 0600, 1200 and 1700 hours (6 am, noon, 5 pm) in Scheduled Tasks. I can change the schedule anytime I want. It also comes with an icon, which can immediately create a restore point, just by double-clicking on it.
The information is here: System Restore. You've got your choice of downloading a .zip or .exe file for installation.
After you install it, you can access it through Windows (XP) "Task Scheduler" by clicking Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools. Works for other versions of Windows, but the Task Scheduler may have a different name.
This works great, especially for people who are always "doing stuff" to their PC (sonnet26 is guilty as charged).

I too like X-teq it seems to do all the things TweakUI does plus You can go mad (within reason) customising lots of things .I managed to grab the sound files from a game and use them as Windows sounds (When I was using Win 98SE) Not used the XP version yet but if it is as good as the earlier version it is worth looking at I also swapped the spinning globe over on Internet Explorer and changed the "Powered by" message ....... A good/fun serious piece of program (Not suitable for a beginner, have to "know" a bit about the Windows structure roughly what you are about to change, saves a OK?) All you mainly have to do is to tick/untick boxes.
