I apparently fell victim to the virus hoax that caused me to delete something pertaining to Java.
I need Java for the online course I am taking. The community college's website had a link you could click to download Java. When I clicked on the link, I got the message, "No longer available from this page" or something to that effect. It said to go to Windows Update page to see if there was something available for my system.
When I went to Windows Update and searched for Java, I got a bunch of search results. The first search result was the same page I started from -- no longer available. I had no clue as to which of the search results would be appropriate.
I have Windows ME.
Does anyone know how I can get Java?

The download will take a little while (mine took almost an hour), depending on how "fast" your PC is. I recommend a download manager such as the free one from Fresh Devices:
The Microsoft Virtual Machine (Java) is available from several sources. I suggest Stuttgart University. This is the latest released version for all except Windows 2000.
Users of Sun Java have reported mixed success under Windows XP, so I recommend the Microsoft product.
