I have not used this particular product, but in general I find that products like this are not very good. Usually they are too generalized to be of much value.

May I ask, what is it that you're attempting to do? You say "cleaning". Do you mean to remove old files? Are you referring to removing spyware, etc.?

In my opinion, you usually do not need to clean the registry unless you have done a great deal of adding of new programs, then uninstalling them. By a great deal, I mean in the area of a 100 install/uninstall actions.

Firs, close all Windows. then follow these steps:

This assumes that the computer is working correctly, no error messages, etc.

I know that many people will argue that they system will slow down if the registry is not cleaned out, but the amount of "slow down" is hardly noticeable to most users. If there are errors that involve the registry, they can be manually corrected.

If you click the "Start" button, then the "Run" command and type in:
%temp%
Then click OK, it will find the temporary files in your system that can safely be removed. Just select one of the files, then click the Edit menu and the "Select All" command.

See this picture

Next, See this picture

Note: if the pictures are too small to read, click on them to enlarge.

Right-click on the selected files and press and hold the "Shift" key on the keyboard while pressing the Delete button. OK the delete files dialog box and allow the files to be deleted.

It is quite likely that you will encounter a dialog box that says something like, "javalog.log cannot be deleted". Just select the next file in sequence and repeat the Select All / Shift Key / Delete key action. This action may have to be repeated several times.

All this means is that the file in question is in use at this time and cannot be deleted.

Once this is done, go to the Start button / Control Panel / Internet Options (this assumes the Control Panel is set to classic mode). Open the Internet Options and locate the Delete button. Click it and remove the files that you wish: Delete Temporary Internet Files

I assume that you getting the Spyware removed using something like Spybots, Ad-Aware and especially SpywareBlaste, which are available here.
And of course that you're using antivirus and firewall software.

I hope this helps!

OK, I'm sorry I just assumed Windows XP. I do not have a copy of Vista so I cannot advise you with that Operating System.

You might try asking this again in a new thread and including Windows Vista Home Premium in your question.

Sorry to have wasted your time.

butter,
You might try right clicking on the Start button, and left clicking Properties, than changing the Start menu to "Classic style". That might give you the Run command. I also do not recommend you purchase or use this software, most often any software that offers a free scan, then wants you to purchase their product to get rid of what it finds , is spyware itself. Please avoid it.
