Hi catty, not aquainted with MSN 8, but had a hunt around..you could try looking here to see if the "use current" option is available. MSN Explorer: 1. Click on "Help & Settings" at the top right-hand corner. 2. Click on "Web Browsing" found about halfway down towards the left. 3. A new window will appear with the heading "What do you want to change about your Web browsing settings?"
logic would dictate that it should be in there somewhere...but....

Me Again I know what you want to do. I'll tell you what the other guys are saying in my own way OK? Click on Start look For Internet Explorer Not The MSN version. Will have an odd arrangement like AOL(which has it's own copy) but shares features like Homepages So add it on one and it appears on the other With us so far? Ok Find and open Internet Explorer notMSN Explorer Look along the top of the page for the word Tools then click on it and select Internet Options OK? Now Look on the window just opened as to what is displayed in the Homepage box You can reset it to show Msn by pressing the "Use Default" button in the middle then press the Apply then the OK buttons to save the position,But if you want it to start anywhere else you will have to type it in manually..There is a way around this Though(a short cut ) Arrive at the page you'd like to start at with the Page being displayed in Internet Explorer then Go through the Tools >Internet Options routine (as above) But this time press the Left hand button marked "Use Current" Then press the Apply and then the Ok buttons to save and Exit

Bedstor: It appears I have offended you. I am truly sorry, for that was never my intention.
Nowhere on my computer (why is this underlined?) can I find an Explorer of any kind. Perhaps I should try reaching it through IE, but even if I am successful in this, I'll get a home page that works with IE, which I don't use, won't I?
I really appreciate your efforts on this forum, bedstor, I made that clear in another thread. Maybe you haven't read that yet.
Anyway, I apologize.
Catty

Catty That is what I said in the last post You only "See" the One version of IE Usually the customised version in your case MSN Explorer So go ahead and do that .I reckon it should work BTW I had a look around the Help part of MSN and could not find any reference to Changing Homepages They assume it is always going to be set for MSN (Not very helpful ) Also the Green "Underlined" words They are for Ad links which KK has just signed up for (to fund AP) they are only running in a few forums and they don't generate an Ad unless you click on the link And Catty.. Offended... ME? I'm actually in a good mood Thank you ,With Ap Fully running again I welcome the chance to start posting on the Main Boards again

Thanks, Bedstor. My suspicion would be that MSN has programmed it to accept only MS as a home page. Will try it with AP and see what happens!
Yes, it's good to find things running nicely again. Still quite slow at posting, though, and when I tried to post this edit, I got an error message again.
You are so good at answering questions, can you tell me what the seriously ugly flippers are for? Catty

Hi again catty, I posted your question in this Newsgroup microsoft.public.msn.discussion
"Greetings! using IE to change homepage Tools/Internet Options..Use Current..Use Default..Use blank ...simple. My question is are these options available in MSN 8 browser? if so where can they be found please." Reply posted by Sandi-Microsoft MVP Under Help and Settings Menu, go to "Settings", then 'personalize my home page'. so you could try that and see if it will allow you to change your homepage in MSN 8 explorer. In case you were wondering the MVP stands for Most Valued Professional similar to AP`s enthusiast status..speaking of which I think the background colour to the "seriously ugly flippers" denotes member/enthusiast status.
