I have recently installed Atomica Slingshot, an instant dictionary/thesaurus program. To operate it, you hold down Alt and click on a word on screen. This is fine, but it also brings up the Character Map. The only connection I can see is that I have assigned CTRL + ALT + A to Atomica and CTRL + ALT + C to Character Map as keyboard shortcuts.

The unwanted appearance of Character Map is no more than a minor nuisance, but has anybody any ideas how I can get rid of it? I am in Win XP Home.

Why not change the keyboard shortcut for Character Map and see if it fixes the problem? I would suggest something like Ctrl + Alt + / since that character doesn't often occur in a word.

Strange though. I have assigned several other keyboard shortcuts and it doesn't trip over those.
