I have some mini movies that i downloaded onto my computer i have been able to view them ok up until now, now i get this come up when i click on anyone of them "multimedia divice currently not ready or open", what's wrong, i'm using Win.xp

What program were you using? If you used a windows mediaplayer, then you may have certain spyware on your computer which disabled the media player. If you recently downloaded an update to your media player (for example from Win media player 9 to 10), then it could be that the file format of your short movies is one that 10 does not support.
