Hi Welcome to Answerpool
I am getting these too and Searching the AOL message boards has produced nothing.
In fact, they have been cut back a lot and they are a mess now Mad
So You are better off running your query on the General Message boards like here or the computer magazine forums
I have been getting these too for a few months now and reinstalling the software does not improve matters Frown
Best thing is to close the page and try again
Ignore the message OK?

PS Can you take your Caps Lock off ...People will think you are [b]SHO

Update on this issue I am still getting this Message despite a new connectivity driver being issued end of January 08
Advice is as before Quit AOL and log in again! I suspect this bug is going to be around until the Next bug fix (if its been reported to AOL Tech support?) Roll Eyes

You are not alone. AOL keeps telling me,nearly every time I log on or off, that my AOL spyware needs updating to its latest model. The only answer is to click 'cancel' and start again and ignore any plea that AOL will need to restart my computer after downloading files. I've let them download and 'install' at least twice but they are still not satisfied Big Grin

Why in the world are you guys using AOL? AOL IS EVIL!!!!

It is a parasitic software that takes over your pc and you can never get rid if it or some of its components completely. My advice, next time you buy a new pc, (and sooner better than later), find another service provider and never click anything on the web related to AOL.

I just noticed something; AOL is "America Online", all of you guys are from the UK. I guess AOL has aspirations to take over the whole world. Scary.

"Too late!", they cried, "Too late!"

There's an AOL.fr(ance) and, for all we know, an AOL.de(utschland) and an AOL. [most other countries of Europe] Frown

After experiencing AOL.co.uk I did manage to avoid AOL in France. It took three attempts to find a server in France that worked properly, but neither of the first two was as bad as AOL, bad though they were .

Thing is we innocent Europeans think that anything American must be better. Innocent indeed! We only find out the truth too late. There are Starbucks in France Roll Eyes Big Grin

The secret is to avoid the AOL Browser being Installed This can be circumnavigated by Accessing the Web with a router. Only have to install the AOL Broadband Disk and Hook up the router which means you have No AOL Signup Routine. Drops you instantly on your Home Page then You surf Normally
To Get to AOL For Checking your Mail I have made 2 IE favorites up 1 for the AOL Home page and the 2nd pointing at the AOL Webmail page Which is accessed on a secure page Smile Can even sign up for a Free AOL Screenname if you are a Non member and you get a decent sized mailbox.

Remember this looks like and runs Like the AOL 9 software(Bar a Lot of the "Luggage" = Kendors "concern" )
The Disks are not being distributed by the thousands now You have to request them off AOL tech support and Their policy is to
1) Downsize Dialup support Is only down to 1 access number In the UK was a choice of I think 6 or 8 numbers as recently as 2-3 years ago
2) Broadband Modems are old Hat They require the AOL 9 browser to log in
3) In the Uk for New Customers they will offer you a Laptop computer Plus a Router and BB Installation Kit and The only Condition is you have to sign up for a 2 year contract and the computer is yours(link speed is 1.1 MBs)
I Haven't heard a bad word about a deal like that
Oh and Pay for the Fast version and You get a Telephone contract with cheap and some Free calls

Offer actually ends Monday 11 February! Frown
