I have been running Media player version 10 (beta) now for about three weeks and has not missed a beat, I like the way it looks and works.....have put it through every test can think of and not one bug as yet.........yes I know some people are paranoid about anything with word "Beta" included but have obviously got a contingency plan if it fails...for those interested the link is here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/mp10/default.aspx
It is not like DRM is anything new,it was also part of Media player 7.0 and earler versions too...who knows? so for all of us using Media Player , my post just advised there was newer version.
Of course, companies like Microsoft, Adobe, and Symantec would say the DRM they use for product activation isn't intended to remotely disable their programs. But can we trust them to tell us what their true intentions are?
DRM is bad. Actually, you had to install DRM separately in anything previous to 9.0. DRM is basically content management and restriction, with all end-user privacy and rights stripped away. It's no good for anyone.
