As you may know I have visitors during the day who may, or may not go to sites which I deem as unfit for viewing by anyone let alone a teenager.

Thus I started using some of the XP stuff to set up user accounts, hoping to make give me a clearer picture of what is or is not actually taking place. (Yes this has been a real big headache for me, since I can not be certain if the kid is going to forbidden sites or if it is a virus, ad ware or some other thing)

I set up one for Guest, one for Danny and left owner for myself.

Each time I go to the others (not owner) McAfee puts up a message: "Unable to scan download, MC Afee missing Files!"

Well I just opened the account, haven't downloaded a thing. so that message doesn't make any sense to begin with.

Since these are limited access accounts, when I go to update my Mc Afee it tells me to log off and have the administrator update the virus protection.

of course when I do that I find that my virus protection is up to date.

Now here is the interesting part. When I check Virus Scan in these other accounts it says that the latest update package was installed - get this -

12-31-1969

Yep, 1969! Thus my virus protection is a few days out of date..... Roll Eyes

I do not know if this is fixable or if I have to have separate virus protection for each account. I do know when you switch users Mc Afee shuts down and restarts when going to a new account.

Contacting Technical Support is a fun, time consuming game which I am not interested in playing today. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks

David
