No matter which computer I use THIS UPDATE always says Internet Exploorer 6 is required. But I do have version 6. I use nothing below 6. They're both 6 so why is it saying I need 6. One is 98 First Eddition and one is XP-PRO.

I found this to download, too, and got the same response as you. I have 6 and the Service Pack 1...don't have an answer for you, but I'm curious as to why it asks for IE 6 when we already have it?

Did you by any chance try the Browser check and fail on the download part...that's where it led me for an update. Doesn't seem to be quite right.

The August 2002 update is intended for Internet Explorer 6. It's likely that you've both updated to IE 6 SP1, to which this update does not apply, or installed a more recent update. In any case, why get such an old update?

The most recent update for IE 5.01 SP3, 5.5 SP2, 6, 6 SP1, and 6 SP1 (Win XP64) is the April 2003, Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer (813489).
