Do these programs really have more information than you can find onlineyourself?

Has anyone or does anyone you know use this or something similiar?
Did it work for them?
Was it worth the $30.00?

* I know records can be located by driving down to county buildings but that takes effort. (Freedom of Information Act)

A client of mine bought the Net Detective software. We could never get it to run on either her WinXP machine or my Win98 machine. The Net Detective technical support suggested we buy the upgrade...no thanks.
