I just installed (and have now disabled) the 30-day trial firewall. I did a restart, after installing a new game and it wouldn't let me load my start-up programs - everything just froze.
I'm running WinXP Pro and the XP firewall is NOT activated. I did a pretty thorough search of everything I wanted to have access (DSL, my IMs, my email clients, Norton auto updates, etc.) and the firewall seemed to be working okay.
Anything in particular I might have missed during configuration?

sonnet, It may be a compatibility problem with the new game and Zone Alarm Pro. I have ZA Pro on my machine with 98se on one partition, and XP Pro on the other. I use XP Pro almost exclusively now, and have no problems out of it. Could the game have a glitch in it somewhere maybe? Just a thought.

Thanks, Chris. I uninstalled the game, but Zone Alarm Pro was still being difficult. Just got a response from Symantec about my Norton Firewall. Gonna try that.

Sorry ZA Pro didnt work out for you, I guess it just doesnt get along with some pc setups. I've been lucky enough to put it on several machines with few if any problems. I hope Norton's works out!

I had major problems with my machine and took it to a tech. He formatted my hd and I tried to get zone alarm to redownload. It tells me that my licence key is not valid and they put the trial version on. I haven't even had the paid version on for a month yet.
