Since removing Paltalk from my computer every time I boot up I get an error message "problem with shortcut" etc. I have uninstalled it, removed everything manually that I could find and unticked it in start up. I have removed it from add/remove programs but I still get the message.
What am I missing?
It doesn't cause any harm but it's annoying.
I was thinking about downloading it again, installing it and then forgetting it just to stop the message....

I too have Paltalk installed.what you seem to have is a remnant of the program still in the Registry.
Run "Regedit" from the Run box on the "Start" menu. On the window which comes up select "Edit" on the dropdown menu look for the "Find" item. next type "Paltalk" in the box press "Return" on any items that are found click on the folder where they are located and you will find the delete menu item There will be at least 2 deletions to be made.
1 is in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER"&programs" area tree list(which concerns the Start menu) and the other is located at HKEY_USERS"&programs"area Tip: press "F3" to find the next occurrence of this "find" item in the Registry
Also type "Paltalk" in the Find box (files or folders)in the box marked "Containing text" this will pinpoint that "shortcut" if it exists?,and when and if you do find it? right click item for "edit/delete list".You do not have to visit location of file to delete it .You can do it from here. wink
