The Microsoft program is called Microsoft PowerPoint. I have always thought that this is the best program to make your slide show with.

Also, if you plan on showing this slide show on other computers, it's probably best to go with PowerPoint because there is a built in PowerPoint reader in all Microsoft computers so the slide show can be viewed, even if they don't have a slide show program.

I'm not sure that's possible! But what kinda slide show are we talking about! Pictures and music only! Or reports and graphs, presentation wise!

Hi Kitty:
IRFAN view allows you to make a stand alone *.exc file of your slideshow.
Dwight's website has a link to this amazing graphics program.

This also allows you to make a *.scr (Screensaver)
with your pictures (gifs, jpgs, bmps, tifs or whatever)
If you check Dwight's profile, you'll find a link to his site.

BTW, Thanks again Dwight for pointing this great program out
to me. I can't believe the capabilities I keep finding with Iview.

I didn't know that Irfanview had that capability! Thanks for pointing that out. This little free program is even better than I thought.

The link to my site is: http://www.alaska.net/~black/

There is a section explaining how to download and install Irfanview. If you don't need that, here is a link directly to the Irfanview page:

http://www.irfanview.com/english.htm

I've had great luck using the "Tucows" download network.

Thanks again, Byter for your post.
