In my search for work, I sometimes come across a job requiring conversions of pdf files to Word. How is this done, and is it so difficult that someone must be hired to do it?

I have Adobe Reader, but do I need something else?

Thanks for any help.

Free Version

Other Titles

You'll have to spend some time to look through the rest to see if any are what you will want.

I take that back. This program, free pdf-to-word, either couldn't download or couldn't open for me. The users rated it 1 out of 6. There's a warning that it has bugs.

Oops, sorry, I'm checking out the other titles. What I'm trying to do is type into a pdf file (employment application), but that doesn't seem to be possible.

My notifications are turned off for this thread. I have no idea why. How can I change them to on?

I have tried 3-4 of the other titles but they either won't download, won't open, or won't respond.

Tried the "text to PDF" and I guess it did convert, but it saved the file in some "Recent"/Apps" place where I can't get to it. Wouldn't save where I wanted it to go.

Now I'm all wee-wee'd up! (is there an emoticon for that?)

Have you tried the My Recent Documents Link on the Start List It holds all sorts of old text image media files Even if the original has been deleted Perhaps the Folder where your PDF has gone walkabout to is listed here?
My best guess as to whereabout it is, in the folder where you'd download a program to.
I have made a custom Folder(Within the "My Documents" Folder) which says "Saved Downloads & Backups" and 99% of the time I expect to find anything I've saved Here

Before it went Scattergun all over the "Document and Program Files" folder.Desktop, and sometimes into the Windows folder! (on Windows 98)Mad
Only downloads that bypass this area are Windows Updates and the occasional update/repair Patch for a Program which does not need a file

I forget if you are on Vista or XP
The "Recent Documents: link is hideable on XP
And Vista may have the same Way?
Try this out
Open the Start menu Right click in a blank area .1 item menu.Properties
Click this
Click the Start menu Tab There is a Customize button click this
New window Click the Advanced tab
Ignore the Menus look to the bottom of the List (on XP) and you'll see a section called Recent Documents There is a Solitary tick box here Click it to "List my most recently opened documents" and Click the OK button Below.DO NOT click the Clear list Button Otherwise we'll have to employ other ways of finding the file Frown
Close the Window/s
Next Open up the Start menu Look Under the My Documents link (top right corner) Is there now a new item?"My Recent Documents"
It may have listed the Download here ...Does also list Deleted files Folders ect Right or Left click clicking on these item will give you a clue to the Files location Unknown if it will start it working or open the file ect.? Roll Eyes

Sorry, I am using Vista. I will try this and get back to you.

Sorry, bedstor, I don't know what you mean by "click on a blank spot," or ".1 item menu." Do you mean ANY item menu? My start menu doesn't have any blank spots that are not associated with a program. If I click on some menu item I get "Properties," but when I click on that, there is no customize button. So I am stopped there.

Can you explain better?

Thanks.

Just right click anywhere in the Window (away from Text) in "White space"
Alternatively Right Click on the Start Button
and its at the Foot of the list NOTE: XP Has "Open all Users"/"Explore all Users" below the Properties Link ,Only used if something is lost or needed on another User account.
Majority of us only have a single "Admin" account. Extra "names" eat Disk space up fast Mad

OK, that took me to the program files, which I have already accessed through the directory. The program isn't there.

This is getting to be more trouble than it's worth. Thank you, bedstor, I appreciate all your help, all the time.
