The published scientific research on autism that is sporadic is clear. Advancing paternal age and a history of autoimmune disorders in the family put a child or future children at a higher risk for autism.
A familial history of autism or Asperger's also put a child at high risk for autism.

Only the industries that are making billions from the autism, schizophrenia, diabetes type 1 and other paternal age related illnesses would find the cause of a good part of the epidemics mysterious. Autism and schizophrenia etc. are multi gene disorders and therefore only an understanding of the male biological clock and fathering before 33 can halt the epidemic. Cryopreserving semen is a wise idea for men in their mid to late 20s to 32. In families with autoimmune disorders the risk of the mutations increasing to the point of autism or schizohrenia in the next or subsequent generations seems high. I just discovered three papers on the close relationship between autoimmune disorders and autism, The papers are from 1971, 1999, and 2003. It is abhorant that the public has not been informed. The reactions to vaccinations by infants and children who are born with the genetic endowment for autism are absolutely to be expected and have nothing to do with thimerisal. Let's discuss, if anyone is interested in this topic, why the CDC and the autism organizations say the cause of autism is unknown.
