Seeing color in sounds has genetic link


I had no idea this had a name. I have a very mild form of auditory-visual synesthesia (the kind where sound triggers color), but rarely mention it.

Make out any messages in the colors or aren't saying?

What relation, if any, does this rare condition have to our saying that we feel 'blue' ( a use of the word which dates to the C16 )?

The link refers to a man who has a remarkable ability to remember numbers. One such was interviewed on TV here. He described a detailed landscape, in colour, of buildings and hills and so on, all parts of which he related to a number or sequence of numbers. To anyone else that seemed far more difficult and complicated than simply remembering the numbers by rote, but his method was astonishingly fast.

I understand that Stevie Wonder has this color/sound senses also. I always thought that was interesting.
