Question:
What have you found to be the most effective way to remove "moustache" hairs, that doesn't cause them to grow back thicker or darker?

Choices:

I myself tried lazer hair removal. On my bikini. It took four sessions but I am very impressed with the results. It is a little costly. $200/session but it is a much larger area then upper lip.. I am thinking about doing under arms now.

Never use a razor it makes the hair blunt on the end and makes it look thicker. I have waxed at the salon but has any one ever tried it at home? If so what was the name of product?

I recommend electroylsis (SP?). I got my chin hairs done (yes, so I have chin hairs, stop laughing, Puppyblues!) and it lasted about 2 months. Of course they grew back, one of them had a root ball the size of my thumbnail, but it only cost $3 so that's the way I'll go.

Catty (getting older every day, aren't we all?) razz

I'm blonde so I don't get any problems with upper lip hair..

but as a nervous habit I pluck my eyebrows with my fingernails... Bad habit, but I never have a unibrow! The sad thing is, it doesnt even hurt...maybe i killed all the nerves there. *is worried*

Aussie what is the name of the wax kit you use? I have hair on my upper lip that I get waxed when I get my hair cut. I bought Sally Hansen's sugar wax hair rmover kit for face and I followed the directions. You put the tube of wax in hot water then apply to hair then put the paper over that and pull in the oppsite direction of the hair growth. It did not take any hair off. What am I doing wrong? I would like to do this at home and my eyebrows. I would love to have some advice. Thanks

I use Nads which is a cold wax kit. It is australian so I'm not sure if you can get it there or not. You have to let the hair grow a little so the wax will stick to it, which is a pain, but it really works well. I have a little moustache and I use it on my eyebrows as well, they actually make an applicator about the size of a Q-tip for applying to wax to small areas..

On this site you can open a window with a link to find a store near you that carries Nads. It seems to be widely available. Smile
(And I'll check it out for my daughter - Thanks Aussie!)

Thanks Aussie and Tex for your information. I have seen Nads before at one of our drugstores. I will try it. The site you gave really helped! Thanks again.

Wax! Wax! Wax! Get that upper lip waxed! It's cheap, fast and it works. And rest assured, the hair will not grow back thicker or darker.
