I'm of a normal healthy weight for my height, according to my doctor. However, I would like to lose about 10 pounds. I'd like to be on the lighter side of normal.
Why didn't you put any options for underweight?

Wow, Shelster, that is great! I've been trying to lose weight and can't seem to get even one or two pounds off. You must be doing something right - good work!

On August 2nd I had my first knee operation the anesthesiologist checked "No" for obesity issues.
After the surgery the Surgeon accused me of being thin - when I asked he clarified that most of his patients are obese and compared to them I am a thin rail. Yet he assured me for my age, height and musculature I am not obese, not even considered “overweight”
August 22nd the second anesthesiologist (not the same on the 2nd) checked "yes" for obesity issues. When I asked her, she said that my BMI said I was “fat”.
In January my GP accused me of suffering from middle age spread during my annual check up. Yet in July when I went in the same day clinic when my left knee locked up the doctor who looked at me said that he thought that I was “perfect” for my height and age and didn’t understand why I was classified as overweight in my charts. He asked me if I had lost weight/gained weight since January.
Now 3 years ago it was explained to me that BMI charts are worthless for near weights since they make the assumption that the weight relates to fat. Mind I worked out, plus I have labor intensive work which means I have more muscle than your average guy.
Personally, when I look in the mirror I see a lot of room for improvement – but then I am my own harshest critic and see myself as being a 10 ton fatty.

I weigh between 128-130 fully clothed and am almost 5'3". I am toward the high end of normal. The low end on that scale is 107. I would be dead at 107. I weighed 115 once and kept passing out. If I weigh under 125 I look terrible. Those BMI charts aren't right. They don't take breast size into consideration.

True those BMI charts and online calculators are not truely accurate. They are only factoring in height and weight. They cannot differentiate between body fat and muscle so there are exceptions to what is considered a healthy weight range, overweight, underweight, and obese.
Body builders and those with a lot of muscle bulk (me included ) will have a high BMI but are not overweight.
People with physical disabilities or are unable to walk will have a lower BMI due to muscle wasting but that does not necessarily mean that they are underweight.
People who are shorter due to specific race phenotypes (i.e. Asian population) need to have a lower cut off for what is considered overweight and obese.

Exactly Georgia, I had a friend in school who clothed looked in really good shape, but when I seen her in a bathing suit even though she was small (thin) she had a lot of fat, no muscle at all..and I have another pal who is quite large, but very solid. It also depends on your skelatal structure.
It's not skeletal, Kitty. The difference in bone weight of a tall large-boned person and a short small-boned person is not that great. As stated above, it is muscle mass that makes a difference. During my divorce, I lost weight, and got down to the upper range of what is "right" for my height. My employees were split in their thinking. Half thought I had AIDS, half thought I had cancer.

Sarai & jusork: It occurred to me later that some of you may be underweight and that even if this is not so, I should have included that option. Sometimes I get an idea from the news and post it as it first came to me without giving it further thought: next time, I will try to think more about a topic first. Anyway, I wish that there were more than five choices. On a more positive note, the number of responses and their level of openness is heartwarming. P.S. I weigh the proper weight for someone with shoes on. Another way of saying this is that I weight the proper weight on my bathroom scale but am slightly overweight on a doctor's scale. Can't stand those nasty things. Being 56 and having enormous stress, this is quite an accomplishment. For the curious, I am 5'10-1/2" and 170 on a good day.
I used to be on the lower end of normal, but since turning 40 my metabolism seems to have taken a dive and now I am at the higher end of normal. I used to not need to do anything, or watch what kind of foods I ate, to be on the lower end, but now I have to work hard at not going over the normal limit. I took up a gym membership and work hard at keeping in shape and watch my diet. On the bright side, two yrs later, I am now very healthy I believe, even though I haven't lost the 10kg I put on.

Within the last 5 weeks, I have lost 20 pounds, down to 200 pounds. I am 6'4" tall, so this weight is good for me. I did it by being careful what I ate, like eating plain chicken, turkey, very little beef, veggies, etc. I'm also doing pushups, crunches and twists every day, along with spending 20-30 minutes on the treadmill at 4mph. Worked well for me.

Good food and exercise. Sounds like you got it handled!
I wasn't so fortunate in my ability to control myself with diet and exercise, but I am exercising more and feeling better with my weight loss the way I did it.

I used to be underweight for awhile. I've just recently started gaining weight. According to Professor's link, I'm normal.
I recall a visit to a doctor when I was at elementry school who said I need building Up erm Our Family all are naturally slim(Dr Knowall!) I'm still the same weight as @ 21 9 and a half stone/ 135lbs Worst was when I was in Hospital Dropped a full stone! To 8 stone My "diet" is I eat as and when I want food, rarely have breakfast. Lunch is perhaps a grabbed Tuna Mayo on rye? and Have a Hot meal at 5 o'clock perhaps a fish dinner? but normally It's a "what in the fridge looks worth cooking?" sort of meal I grab a few beers and sandwiches before bed with cheese and cookie Plus of course umpteen cups of tea per day my biggest Dietary(sp?) boo boo LOL Exercise? Have no Vehicle at the moment so I have to take Public transport to most places. But My best exercise tip would be if you are "Waiting" for a bus for age rather than standing looking into the distance waiting at the bus stop start walking to the next bus stop (Bus passed you or not in sight?) continue on until you and the bus are in the same stretch this Both saves you money (less distance to travel) and makes your body burn some calories. All your mind should be focused on is the next bus stops position Think about the mileage and your legs will pack up! Mind over Matter My record is over 20 miles on a damp breezy day ( Tip: Don't do it on a Hot or cold day!) And I used to think the mile and a Half walk from my Primary school was a million miles before I was 10 Mind you the last leg was up a steeply angled street (about a 1 in 10 climb) to our house

I think I'm different from you. I eat three pretty full meals per day on average. Somehow I just don't gain weight much.
Is a stone some kind of method of measurement?
