I made a Topic In the UK about an Issue I had with this computer (due to the change in the weather) which left me unable to use this computer for almost 24 hours. I think in Hotter climate Areas you'll never experience the Issue unless there is Lots of Humidity/heat But keep it in mind on the Back burner I think the Issue/remedy in the Highlighted section marked If You Live somewhere warm... is worth trying out
Tools needed to fix (If you have Had no Joy when rebooting in a warmer room) A crosshead screwdriver to open the Case ,undo the Hard drive out of its Slot. 4 screws, and it slides out. And a Hair dryer that can blow warm air at low speed or a substitute item
If You Live somewhere warm... I think the same thing can happen if the Drive is exposed to excessive Heat then Try some form of "Dry Cooling" on the Hard drive Drive case by removing the Covers on the Pc Tower and getting an External Fan to Circulate cool air (An Oscillating "tower" fan is Best) Though in my experience, it's been the Graphics card/s to Fail first. especially if their "cooling" amounts to a Heatsink (On cheap Cards) Monitor picture starts Flickering or doing something before Blanking out The Messages may be different to what I saw My Topic starts with these words:
quote:
I had a frustrating 24 Hours with my computer When I started it up( @ 10 am) It ran for about 10 minutes then froze
I reset it and it then started slowly Did its "Startup" Beep then Should have launched into Windows....
Nothing! Bar a Black screen and a Prompt message which said (Roughly) " Insert Media and Press key to continue" Reset again same thing Happened...Repeat several Times[/b]
Rest of the Topic goes on to the Checks I made and the Discovery of the Answer In a slightly Mad sounding way (Adapt to suit)
