Asking the obvious questions Gin
Have you loaded the driver for you cam of the Cd which came with the camera?
and 2)has the message come up in your start menu(clock side) that the camera has been detected (when you plugged it in (Listen out for a xylophone sound) does it regardless of a driver being installed or not.

Hi Mike! Smile Thanks for replying.
Well, after the plugging it in numerous times,it finally worked, heard the little sound. But now I invite a friend, they get the window but it's black. The instruction booklet isn't very informative. Also the picture on my window of me is dark..I see no adjustment knob.

What is the name of the Web cam? Does it show a Web site where technical support can be reached?

Hi Dwight!

It's a Veo Advanced Connect. Yes, it has a tech support number and web site. I'll try them. Thanks much! Smile

Good luck with this...and please post back if you need additional assistance. Do you have a big window next to your computer? Will we get to see "The beautiful Bayou State of Louisiana"?

The driver is available at:
http://www.veoproducts.com/Advanced_Connect/drivers.asp

Size about 1 Meg.

And support info links are on this page Smile
http://www.veoproducts.com/support-webcam
(Well laid out (easy to follow) Smile)
However to make it work, you have to 1st download the main program..a mere 75 meg !!Eek
I'd look for the CD that came with the camera to download this otherwise you are going to be there all day waiting for this to download (with No guarantee of success Frown)
If installation is successful it will be recorded in the "Start" menu as a browm banded item with a banner saying "New Program Installed" Smile
Just plugging the Webcam in does not count as an installation Roll Eyes Has to be recorded on the "Start" menu

Mike,
It's there, in programs, on my short cuts too. The window with the cam show me but Yahoo's window is black. Am I suppose to have them both? I know this is all simple, I just am missing some little thing in getting this thing working. Confused I'll keep trying. Thanks. Smile
