I would suggest the Koss PTX6 - Basic headphones with an in-cord volume control and costs about $10. They also have a set of earbuds with a volume slider (KEB20DVD) for $25. Might find lower prices at other online stores.

I have a set of earbuds and a large headset from Koss that I've been using for a few years. Sound quality and bass is very good for the price range, but don't expect it to best a Sennheiser or Bose.

If you were Living in in the UK DG I'd Point you at the Discount Chainstores Which Have these in abundance I got Mine from such a place for about $7 Quality is good I've had several which have fell to bits costing double that price . Some have very poor sound
Took several shops Viewing before I got my current Pair
TIP Don't buy chromed headphones the Chrome is often very Brittle ,is paint!(Hides bad quality plastic) and If you want glitter in your Hair this is a good way to give yourself the look, Roll Eyes Gets on your clothes and Hands too! Red Face

PS The Volume control is fitted into the cord
which is a generous ca 6ft long (or about 1.5 Meters)
