Do you think the average person should pay for an extended warranty on a computer? I would think it might be more economical to just pay a local computer repairperson, if ever needed, than to pay hundreds of dollars for a warranty you may never use. What is your opinion? Smile

In general I would advise against an extended warranty on a computer. Generally, if there is going to be a hardware failure on a new system, it will occur early on (like within 30 days) and be covered under the standard system warranty. If the hardware lasts beyond that time, it usually will last the life of the product. In my opinion, the warranty is not necessary and is a waste of money.
