Is there some way of changing a computer, Windows, keyboard which is French; it starts AZERTY across the top line; to operate as though it is a QWERTY keyboard? It would make life easier if there were !It wouldn't matter that the keys still read the same or even that some symbols e.g @ were not in the same place (heck, we get that with American vs British keyboards !) just so long as it worked basically as a QWERTY on touch-typing. And of course it would help if the process could be reversed so as to suit French friends who might be surprised by the effect

I suspect Fred changing over the Language on the Keyboard to GB English is all you need to do It works with the US to English layout, why not French to English?
I use an American layout keyboard and I'm comfy with it

start > control panel > regional and language options > languages > details > add

That's how I got my keyboard to type in Cyrillic at any rate.

Also on the "details" window, click "langage bar" and check the box to show the language bar. You'll probably want to minimize it, which will result in a little button on your task bar. Mine can be switched from EN to RU. Once yours is done, I assume it will be switchable from EN to FR.
