I have Windows XP. My printer is Canon BJC-1000. The printer won't print the whole document anymore, just a few lines or half a page at the most...then it spits out the document. It has been doing this for about a week. It was all right before that. I ran the Windows XP printer test page and it said "congratulations. if you can read this information, you have correctly installed your Canon...etc." and it printed half a page up to additional files used by this driver: C:\WINDOWS\...etc. I don't know how much more if anything should have been printed.
Any ideas?

I assume you have disconnected the printer from the computer and unplugged the power from the printer for 1 minute. Problem still present. Try to connect to another computer and print. You have deleted all print jobs in windows- Yes. You have restarted the computer-Yes

Good suggestions from Scapel. If that doesn't solve the problem, I suggest you contact Canon Support and see if they can help. This link will open a page where you can choose between telephone support and email support.

Nothing I tried would correct the problem. However, I was having other problems with the computer screen freezing (not responding) ever since I downloaded MSN and MSN Messenger. My son came down last weekend and reinstalled everything. He eliminated a bunch of unnecessary programs as well as the scanner which was hooked up in tandem to the printer. The end result was that the printer is now working...for how long, I don't know. It came as a package with my old computer. If it lasts through tax time I will be happy.

I appreciate your taking the time to provide an update. It is very helpful to get this type of feedback information. The kind of problem that you've described is difficult to diagnose through this type of help line because we cannot see what is currently running on your system. I'm very glad to hear that you've got the problem solved.
