I am looking for a good basic computer for my parents. I wonder if there are any deals out there for retired teachers or veterans. Basically they will use the computer for email, some basic spreadsheets, some word processing and photos. They need a decent sized monitor because my mom's eyes aren't too good.

I've already looked at Dell and their basic desktop with a 15" or 17" monitor would be okay but I can't get a handle of how the discount programs work. I have to believe that there are good retired teacher deals out there but I've done some looking and can't find anything.

Anyone interested in helping me shop... it would be appreciated.
