We have a Hewlet Packard psc 1315v unit which is a scanner/faxer/printer/photocopier. What I like so much about it is that the device is compact, does NOT have all these jutting out paper loaders from the top and works extremely easily. This device had a flap in the ront that flips down to hold the paper and can close for compact storage when done. I have enjoyed using this machine for several years with no problems. This site has similar devices that may better suit your needs. If you have any questions, just ask. http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/product_deta...ct_code=Q7290A%23A2L

Thank you. I am considering either HP (PSC 1510 or 1610) or Canon (Pixma MP 130 or 170); I've had two HP printers at home that I've been happy with, but at work we use Canons, which are really nice. I'm wondering how noticeable the difference is between the models. For example, 36-bit color compared to 48-bit, 600 dpi scanning resolution compared to 1200 dpi. I would imagine your HP 1315 is similar to the HP 1410, and it sounds as though you're happy with the quality, so I'm not sure if the higher-priced models would be worth it...

The unasked question was How much is the Ink cartridges? All are expensive bar... Epson I'm considering buying an Epson "all in 1" soon as my old Epsom printer has finally expired (Got it second or 3rd? Hand) but it was easy to set up and run (and so long as I didn't print heavily colored pages it was easy on the ink consumption (uses a 3in 1 certridge for color) and they were about the cheapest to buy (and they are stocked just about everywhere) Lots of things to consider Here is the Epson Site Page which has the current models www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/ProductCategory.jspPricewise they are the same as Lexmarks Ps Here is a lot of refurb/clearance Epson All in ones (ex factory)

I just ordered the HP 1510 from CircuitCity for $95. I agree that the Lexmark printers seem to be good products, but ultimately I chose the HP because of its streamlined shape, its included photo-project software, and my history of good experiences with HP. Thanks to all of you for your input.

The refurbished Lexmark X4270RFB Refurbished 4-in-1 Printer, Scanner, Copier & Fax, next to the one in MsSueM's link, has the advantage of having a telephone and a fax machine built into the unit. It costs an additional $20. Here is the warranty for the refurbished model.
Warranty Length: 1 Year LexExpress Exchange Warranty. Lexmark technitions will first try to resolve the problem, by calling 800-332-4120. If your problem cannot be resolved over the phone, Lexmark will Air Express an exchange printer to you within 2 business days. Upon receipt of the exchanged printer, pack the defective printer in the carton, which contained the exchange printer, place the UPS prepaid shipping label that was inside the box onto the outside of the box. Take the printer to a UPS drop off point such as Mail Boxes Etc or your local UPS office, for shipment back to Lexmark. Please note: If you call UPS to come and pick up the printer from your site, they will charge a pick up fee. The fee is not refunded by Lexmark. If you prefer your printer may be repaired and returned, rather than exchanged. In either case, Lexmark pays the shipping charges.
