I have an epson stylus color 400 that hasn't worked for years. It worked well when I first got it, but developped a tendency of clogging. Then, eventually, it simply quit printing. It still thinks it's printing, but nothing appears on the paper except (occasionally) a very faint black smudge. I've tried running the cleaning sequence, I've tried replacing the ink, and I've tried cleaning the print heads with rubbing alcohol as best I can, but none of that seems to help in the least. Any suggestions or is it finally time to give in and buy a new printer (not that I can really afford it).

Methos, when you say you have replaced the ink, do you mean refilled the cartridges or changed the cartridges?
I had the same trouble a while ago till I renewed the cartridges!

Methos:

I would suggest you take your Printer into 'Best Buy' & have them check it out for you.

If you have not used your printer ifor a while something may have went south on you.
