In the past year, I've gone through 3 CD-ROM players/burners. I know I've been going for the cheap ones, but this latest one is less than 6 months old and Windows tells me there is no disk inserted when I know damn well there is!!!
Am I killing my components or are my upgrades just degrading to my computer? Anyone else out there suffering from burner-burnout?

Try reformating the OS and reinstalling a fresh one and rule that out first! Otherwise I have a Lite-On 16x10x40 for almost 1 year and and QUE 8x4x32 for I think 3 years now with no prob! What make and model do U have? And what OS?
