It's really quick. Double core. 2.3g chip. 1g memory. Running XP. Loving it but the external modem is 56k so that limits the speed. Is there a way to get around this? Is there a quicker internal modem inside the pc.
Just gave away my old E machine 533i d from 1998. Still works slowly.
Thanks to all of you for all the help for all the years.
I finally feel I've entered the 21 st C. Thoroughly ,omdern billlie, at last on my hot rod.

Never knew when I bought it had lots of blue led's on the cabinet and the fan. THe transparent side comes off. Funny there's not much in there to see. I'm used to the blue rays now.
Loved having itput together my way,at last. Never thought I would take too surfing or pc culture. Great pleasure. Like a magic carpet ride.

Is there a broadband Internet option in your area? Either cable or DSL? If so, are you willing to pay the Internet Service Provider fees (around $40 US per month in my area)?

If your answer to either of the these is "yes" that would be my suggestion.

If either cable or DSL is not an option, you might look into Clearwire which uses cell phone towers. This is not available everywhere, but it may be in your area. Check that at Clearwire.com

If broadband is not an option, here is a page that discusses dial up modems: Modems at About.com

I hope you will find something that is helpful.

Pleased for you agree with Dwight a Broadband link would be A logical Upgrade Bumbling along on a 48K link doesn't do it Justice. You want at least a 1 MB speed link and It will be like seeing a color TV for the first Time Wink

My Computer also is like Yours Has 2 giant 8 inch fans And 3 others,And the Blue LED lamps too

Open the case up and Like yours It is spacious
Good reason why, The Main Processor runs Hot and the Fans Keep the plot cool also the linked Graphic cards (I have 2 fitted to run Top spec games)
PS Have you Noticed there are Many more ventilation slots than the Old designs

PPS A Lite-On DVD-ROM Player Does all the Things I want and Its only Cheap at just over $40
