hi, i can use a little help.
our computer at home suddenly stopped booting up properly. it is a fijitsu-siemens computer from 1999 and has windows xp on it. for a while it kept restarting itself instead of booting up regularly and then we got 2 different error messages on a blue screen: NO_MORE_IRP_STACK_LOCATIONS and the other is PAGE_ERROR_IN_A_NON-PAGE_AREA (approx.)
i called the microsoft and manufacturer they referred me to a call line since it is beyond the warranty. the helpline told me that it is from the working memory and that it needs to be replaced. a friend of mine who specializese in software said he's never heard of the working memory going bad suddenly. and i know that it is not a virus, i ran a bunch of scans. i can start it in safe mode, but not as it should be.
i just want to know for sure whether anyone might know for sure that the working memory is bad. before i go and run to the computer store for an expensive fix.
also, is it possible to activate the internet connection in safe mode? that is the only thing that i really need to use currently and it doesn't work.

To verify whether memory is good, use Microsoft's Windows Memory Diagnostic.

Use the System File Checker which verifies the integrity of the Windows core files, and replaces them as needed. Click Start, Run, type SFC and press Enter, then follow the prompts.

If this is not effective, repair your Windows installation. To do this, run Setup.exe Windows XP CD, then choose the Install and Upgrade options.
