My mother, after years of refusing to even consider getting a computer, is showing signs of weakening If so, space is a big issue for her so a desktop is out of the question. What recommendations does anyone have about brands???She would use it mainly for surfing the Net so it doesn't have to have all the fancy bells and whistles.

Maybe there's no room for a desktop. But what U call a BOOK PC whick is no bigger than the size of a standard book or THESE U will.

I prefer the "Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor" over the "Intel® Celeron® Processor", but in truth for your mother's needs, either should work just fine.
