Not sure where to post this so this looks as good of a place as any. Big Grin

I am looking for an Audiovox CDM9950 (could be the 9900) or Toshiba VM4050 data connector for a cellphone. I do NOT want the whole cable, JUST the connector.

Thanks Smile

Do you mean, the end of the cable? Could probably find plans and build one...

I need just the connector. (not the entire cable)

This site has connectors but not the one I need.

Have you tried calling their 800 number? I was going to call for you but it was too late when I saw this thread.

Where is it on the site you posted? When I called they didn't have it. Confused

Can you post the page you saw that has the connector on it?

I put in the name and model 1 and 2. A lot came up. But wasn't sure if any of it was what U mean't.

If this is so hard to find why just get the whole cable.

This is what AnswerPool is for. People ask hard questions they don't know and people who know the question answer.

I already have a cable but it costs $30.00 per cable. With the connector, I can make a cable much cheaper to use a cellphone to hook up to computer. It is a fairly new phone and most stores say that the connectors should be in any day.

ivnj,

You threw a link up there that didn't pan out. Don't take it so personal. If you're getting that frustrated by answering, then sit on the sidelines and wait for another chance. Roll Eyes

He's frustrated? I think since he forgot his question mark, it just made it sound frustrated.

Howdy Clare,

While searching for the connector you wanted, I did learn that the kits for the audiovox 9950 that were marketed when that phone first came out were not compatible with windows XP. So I’m guessing that is why most businesses are selling the cables. The original kits came with a cd, cable, and the connector.

I did however find a manufacturer, who has an aftermarket available. It is for audiovox. I don’t know if it is compatible with all audiovox mobile phone models or not. I think you will need to speak with a representative of the company on that.

Hopefully that is the right connector that you need,

Here’s the link

Hi Piggins

I can't call them because they are in Taiwan and China so I just sent them an email. (actually 2 emails to different addresses) Thanks so much for taking the time to look! I will let you know if they get back with me. Those two aren't compatible but hopefully they have some not on their page that are. This is the furthest I've gotten. Thanks. Smile

I'm sorry I haven't responded. I forgot about the thread. I got the data connector from the link piggins gave. It was a series of emails and they finally sent it out.

Thank you to everyone for helping me! I appreciate it. Smile

Funny. In Star Trek the Klingon technology is compatible with Federation Technology which is compatible with Romulun Technology which in Turn is compatible with Vulcan Technology.

These are quick, readily done connections in the span of less than a few minutes (Most often done with 30 seconds left on the Auto Destruct Clock too)

Yet we find that technology between cell phones, Computers, and all of that rot all built here on earth is not Compatible.

You need adapters and special, hard to find goo-gaws to connect.

I suppose that the ability to connect is the Fiction in Science Fiction.......

Wink
