How do I change the CPU battery on my Dell Dimension 4100?

The computer is not working and I have had it 4 1/2 years, so I thought I would try that first.

becky,
Could you give some more info please? Will the computer power up? Does it make any noise when you push the "On" button? Would you by any chance mean the battery for the BIOS on the motherboard? If so, that alone would not stop the computer from starting, but would cause it to not keep the proper time in Windows, and would not keep the settings in the BIOS, if you or anyone else had changed them at all. Please give some more details for us to see? Thanks!

I'll have to reconnect the computer to see if it will power up from the regular power button.

I had been pushing the reset button to start it up. Then the white desktop would show that says to click the Active Desktop Recovery button. When I click that button, nothing happens.

I've been going to the library to use the computer. I'll try to post the rest of the info tomorrow. Thanks for looking at my question.

Becky
