Hi again people, I'm having a little "problem" happening now that I'd like to get some insight into. Whenever I boot up my pc, the floppy drive activates, and sometimes runs two or three times during bootup. Also, it wants to run when I start an Ad Aware scan, even though I dont have that option checked in the scan setup. It also wants to run whenever I shut down. At times, it wants to run whenever I click on a totally unrelated program to open it. Should the floppy drive be running that much? If not, how do I stop it from wasting power like that? No it shouldn't! So it's either a bad floppy drive or bad motherboard FDD controller! And depending on how old your sytem is and what name brnd it is it may not be worth fixing!
Or pop in a Windows98 boot disk and boot with CD-ROM support and see how often it loads! It might be an OS thing! Doubt it though!

I have a built system, that has been upgraded. The motherboard is an Asus A7V133/Woa-UAYZ socket A with a VIA KT133 Chipset. I may have to have it checked out by my tech guy, if there's ever a chance to do it. Thanks for the response!
