Has anyone ever purchased any computer equipment from a show? There is a show nearby in a few days, and the promoter's web site says the "computer hardware is a collection of mostly new, some used, refurbished and overstock products." The promoter is BlueStarShows.com, and claims that manufacturers will be selling there, with warranties, etc. I am looking for a laptop that I can use when hosting Trivia contests, and mainly want word processing and music capabilities. Any input is greatly appreciated.

While at most shows there are certianly some good deals to be had, there are also sharks that will prey on those less familar with the hardware they are buying. Also, be wary of that 'warranty' they provide. Is it a company that you will even be able to reach in 6 months with something goes south?

DG, Personally, I would look on eBay first, as thats my favorite website to buy from, LOL. I have 6 laptops coming that I've bought from there to fix up, but there are many that are complete and ready to go,and going for great prices!
