Hi Dwight! Wondered where you'd gone to - guess I just wasn't visiting the right forum!

In installing my printer, I notice that my particular model isn't there. I use a HP 697C, and the only ones available were 690C and 694C. Should I choose one of these? Which one? Catty (who wishes her printer was a church key)

The Windows CD does not contain all drivers for all printers or devices. You sometimes (in fact, usually) have to go to the device manufacturers site and download the drivers.

Note: In case there is a problem with the link above, go to:

Then the "Support" link - Click the "driver downloads, software updates & patches" link. Then enter your printer model (HP 697C). Then click the Windows ME link (assuming I'm remembering correctly, that you do have WinME as your operating systems).

Right, Dwight, I did what you said. The driver apparently installed, as it informed me that the installation had been successfully completed. But when I went to Control Panel/Printers, and clicked on "Add new Printer" the driver was not listed there - what in the world am I doing wrong? Catty (who is barely able to pick her own shoes without Dwight)

And do you see any printers listed in the "Printers" window?

I must have hit "install now" because it did. The printers I see under "printers" in the control panel are 690C and 694C. What I installed was supposed to be 697C for ME. Catty

Have you attempted to print using them?
