I have been going round and round with Dell's Customer Service in India, Panama and The Phillipines (mostly India, but never the USA) since the middle of Jan. 08. I ordered a CPU fan and every week Dell either bumps the scheduled ship date out another week or cancels the order without requesting my permission. I have a collection of 19 e-mails (so far) and today is the best yet. Dell's computer system is down and they cannot access my order or my account - and they don't have the ability to make outgoing phone calls, so they can't take my info. and call me back. I have to keep calling them! Confused

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to contact Dell Customer Service and speak to someone that didn't learn English as a second language?

I love my Dell PC, but it'll be a very cold day before I purchase another from them. Mad

Thanks folks! Smile

After running the e-mail total to 25 and receiving nothing but form letter e-mails and scripted responses from Dell I gave up and ordered from an on-line source that is shipping tomorrow. Big Grin

I'd still love to obtain a Dell Customer Complaint address (e or snail mail) so I could purge my system of a month's worth or frustration from trying to deal with them. Mad

The product is (or at least it was) very good, but to be crudely blunt - their customer service sucks!

Good luck to anyone trying to deal with them.

One thing that I have found when dealing with computer support is to use the online chat feature offered by many companies. Typing ones question and then reading their response seems to make getting help easier (less of a language barrier).

Dells are now sold in some retail stores like Best Buy. You maight have some luck with making a complaint through this type of sales outlet since you would be dealing with a person on a face-to-face basis.

If it helps any, I feel your pain after dealing with support from many computer makers. It seems that the term "customer support" is just a cruel joke.

Dwight, you are right about the on-line chat. The techies are proficient writing English and there is less of a barrier there. Years ago I had an Indian (?) woman whose English was so bad that I could NOT understand her even when she spelled words. I may have well as been speaking to a Klingon. Wink

I guess the dollar an hour Dell pays them 'over there' is more important to Dell than capturing our repeat business.

I finally gave up and procured my fan from a supplier I found on the net. A bit more, but it has been received, installed and working for a couple weeks now.

The real kicker was a follow-up e-mail from Dell asking if they had performed well and had resolved all my problems. Mad Boy did I let them have it! I'll bet my reply doesn't get passed up their chain of command for an 'attaboy'.

wow-this was a revelation. A good friend of mine had computer problems with Dell and she said they called her. She said the guy was from India?? Anyway she also said that from where he was he could control her computer and fix her problem. Well, to make a long story short she said it felt weird to see your computer working without her input and before she knew it-it was fixed.( They have a business about 20 miles from where I live)

But to me-anybody having control over my computer seems a bit too weird for me, even if they are from Dell. Roll Eyes

Dwight does this, and I can promise you that even with his Alaskan accent, he is easily understood. Big Grin
