I just got a new SCSI Ultra 160 HD! The one from the link in the Good Deal Post here! I also got a SCSI Ultra 160 card from the same place! I even got a 160m/s capable cable!
So why am I only benching 35,000 approx? And about half of that with IDE! Sandra says other ATA 7.2k drives go 40-50! My new drive is 15,000-RPM and 3.4ms avg access seek time! Nothing will ever bench a full 160 but isn't 35,000 too slow! Shouldn't it be at least be above 50k?

A Sandra score of 35K is probably about right for this drive. While its seek time is quite good, the drive slightly underperforms compared to other recent 15K RPM SCSI drives. This is not really unexpected, as serious engineering problems delayed the product's production for about a year.
Not a bad drive, really, just not quite the performer that the other 15K SCSI drives are. Bear in mind the price you paid -- maybe half that of an equivalent Seagate.
