Batteries Could Overheat and Catch Fire

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) -- Dell Inc. said Monday it will recall 4.1 million notebook computer batteries because they could overheat and catch fire, in the biggest recall in its 22-year history.

The world's largest personal computer maker blamed the voluntary recall on lithium-ion batteries made by Sony Corp., which Dell (Charts) said could in rare cases produce smoke and catch fire. - CNN.com

Was just going to post the same myself DG

Have the Official info webpage link here on the Posting I made to a UK Internet forum

quote:
If you have a Dell laptop here is the official Factory information on how to Identify the models affected by the recall
It also states there are Dell batteries fitted to other lap tops so be vigilant for these too

Tell your laptop owning friends/contacts about this alert. to at least look at what battery is powering their laptop even if it's not a Dell
