Check the speakers and the audio mute button (speaker icon) down by the time display. Be sure the speakers are turned on and that the volume is up. Volume can be set on the speakers themselves and via the speaker icon and both must be set to an appropriate level. If none of these resolve the problem, you can do a sound test by: Click Start Click run Type in: dxdiag Click OK OK the WHQL if asked Run the sound tests and use the additional help menu to see how to resolve this problem. quote: Let's connect our systems and I will remove the download advisory program. Ohhhhh Kinky! No seriously...is that relatively easy to do Dwight? I know you're a computer genious but didn't know that was something that could be done with someone outside a network. That's impressive!

Since you're asking, yes it can be done remotely. This page ( Click here) will explain how this can be done. I should add, I'm not trying to use Answerpool as a source of advertising; just replying to your post. I did connect with Catty's system and I believe the problem is resolved; it appears it was a problem with corrupt Playlist files. Catty, if you see this, can you confirm for me that the AVG is running correctly, that the Security warning is gone? If not, I hope you will let me address that because I think it is very important that this gets fixed. Dwight

The two AVG icons indicate that the program is currently running a system scan. It is set to automatically do this once per day. Once the scan completes, the second icon will close automatically. The other AVG icon should remain visible at all times. It should display in 4 colors. If you ever see it in gray scale, that indicates that the program requires an manual update which can be done by right-clicking on the icon and choosing "Check for updates". The antispyware icon is found on your Desktop labeled "AntiSpyware". This is the what the icon looks like: Remember, all these programs update on Wednesday, so if you run these checks on Thursday, you should always have the latest updates. Dwight
