I am looking for a new computer. I'd like to spend roughly $600. I have found an e-machine in such a price range, are they any good? Any other suggestions?

There are some really good sales on right now. Both are offering on-line coupons. I think you will find much better Tech support...both on-line and Help Desk via telephone, + the systems are much better insofar as being able to expand them.

KK will have a link to Dell computers here on Saturday (if not sooner).

If you really want a dell but don't want to spend much check out the Dell Outlet: http://outlet.dell.com They have a limited stock but what they have is discounted. Everything they have is open-box, but it is all inspected before resale.
Semi-related (but still funny) note: Recently, the "Dell Dude" got busted for posession of marajuana! :o
If you are willing to take Lindows (a flavor of Linux) for a spin take a look at some of these budget computers: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/partners/microsite.asp?id=lw

I have found both the E-machines, and the HP's at Walmart for around that price, or lower. They have the HP 304 right now for $498, which appears to be a good system. The E-machine they have looks to be good too, though I have never tried them. I would also suggest Ebay. Good luck!
