You can reformat the hard drive and then reinstall the operating system. That will return the computer to the same state that it was in when you first bought it. You should have received some CDs from Compaq when you bought your computer. Those are what you use to reformat and restore your system. Your 7585 PresarioThe link above should give the "How To" about using the Quick Restore CD. I must also tell you, reformatting the disk does not remove all traces of your use. A determined snoop could recover a great deal of your data, even if you reformatted. This isn't easy to do, but it is possible.
