I have a Hewlett-Packrd Pavilion 8550C (something like that) and I am looking to buy a flat panel/ LCD monitor. Problem is, I know that only certain ones are compatible, but I don't know if it's between brands, or just because some connectors don't fit right. Right now I have a heavy sony monitor. All I really want to know is how to tell what kind of monitor I can get while being safe, how I can figure out the specifics. Also if you have any tips where I can find a quality one while it staying cheap, I would appreciate it. Anybody looking to sell theirs? Wink

Hmmm! first I have heard of incompatibility issues with monitors. The jacks on all monitors are standard size.

If you are looking at a TFT, remember that a 15" TFT/LCD is the equivalent to a 17" CRT and a 17" TFT/LCD the equivalent of a 19" CRT

pricewatch is a good place to start
