What makes a HardDrive Fast? RPM, SEEK MS, Transfer Speed, and Buffer right? My
WD is benching extremely poor! I've tried new cables and everything! And DMA if Available option in XP! Evreything is fine! Bios is OK! Detecting UDMA-Mode 5! According to the specs page posted UDMA-mode 5 should be ATA100 100ms a sec! But my ECS-K7S5A won't bench higher than 18 or 19,000! Others have had similar problems! Onboard IDE is never the greatest anyway! So I need a new controller card! But the SIIG one I tried didn't work! So maybe I'll get a new drive like SCSI!
But is SCSI faster and how do I tell? My
Adaptec-2906 SCSI card goes only 10ms per second! But obviously as mentioned before there's more to it than that! So will that matter! Or do I need a new card that goes like 160md per second! Cuz it doesn't say hds! It ays only scanners, zips, and cd-roms!
And even if I get a new card what's the guarentee it will be faster? What makes SCSI faster and how do I know which is faster?
So basically I'm asking is it wiser to get a new ATA133 card or go with something like
