I have here an HP Pavilion a735w with a Samsung IDE 80 gig hard drive, model # SPO802N. The computer will not boot, either says "invalid disk error" or something similar each time. The message changes every time almost. I have taken the hard drive out and tried to scan it in another computer, the scan ends within seconds with this message:

Scan was completed with error.

Error: The volume does not contain a recognized file system.

I have tried to run the error check on it thru the other computer, I have tried to run the Samsung diagnostics on it, all to no avail. Keeps saying there's nothing to scan basically. It also will not reformat at all. The drive is spinning, I can hear it, and its sounds fine. Is there another way that I'm not aware of to scan it, or correct the obvious errors? Thanks!
