Hello all one newbie struggling. Have purchased
2nd user scanner with no cd. Have downloaded drivers from mustek site. When I plug in pc recognises new hardware but cannot find Mustek. Adding software, cannot find disk (that i copied) I have been trying for 8 days now can anybody help, thanks

Sorry about the delay
Revisit the site find the file and start the download
Click on the Open File button ,might also have a tick box? (tick this) this will start the wizard to install the driver when the download is complete. So have the scanner hooked up/switched on
Should be OK now?

Has this been resolved?

Hello Bedstorand Chris F, no I am not one of those people who do not reply, Try looking on computer active. Thanks both for trying to help. I did what you said at 6.am.yesterday and it totally crashed my Pc, I have therefore been off line until 5 mins ago. as it affected my reigstry and its taken me all this time to sort it out. When I downloaded again from Mustek file it would not open stated i/o fault. any ideas. As for the Uk split, the majority of the Brits here are from the North (Lancs/Manchester)also Tyneside ,Don't ask where the rest are?

As to the driver prob, try to save the latest download and uninstall the driver software
2)Reinstall the software plus the newest driver
Sounds like a conflict issue?

Downloaded the driver from Mustek onto Floppy
then loaded onto system. Gone into systems
recognises new hardware as an unknown device.
But dont know what to do next, as when I go into search/find all it brings up is uninstall
When I go into programes it brings up usb 1200
(Mustek 1200 usb scanner I have got)uninstall
on other systems I have installed it usually brings up an install icon/unintall/help etc.
Tried 10 times again tonight getting a little
frustrated. going to bed again. I know it must
be hard work trying to explain things to somebody who has little knowledge. By the way
using ME 128 meg ram/19 gb hard drive. 13gb left on hard drive. I dont think this will be
much use to you, have booked tomorrow afternoon

I have the installtion disk for W 3.1 -95NT. It works with W 98 but not with Win NT.

Can send it to you if you promise to return it ...timely.

Besides the driver you need IPP1.2, IPP4and Textbridge.


IPP1.2 & 4 are photo editors.

I think Textbridge is an interface between the scanner and photo programs.
Mustek is old and slow. Can't work on other programs while it is pre-scanning and scanning. Beats nothing for me.

and ok. Gone into 'fotofinish` this imaging programme recognised the scanner, but came up with ``the scanner is not connected`` don't know
why as power on and usb cable connected, have also changed usb cable, and it still no difference. By the way if you have had one of these do you know where the on off switch is, Ican't find one? Slight improvement only taken

As you have probably gathered I have managed to install ``the thing`` this afternoon, part of my post in reply to Stan got deleted, at the beginning, haven't repeated it all to you as I did not want to take up too much space. The only problem I have left is on the post to Stan
